Tessa Tessa Amanda AmandaPointe Claire, a quiet neighborhood located in The West Island of Montreal is where you can find a range of small companies. People aren't sure of what the term means, and think it is an independent Island to the west of Montreal. Actually, the West Island includes the entire region from Lachine towards the west. The West Island is frequently referred to as the birthplace of Amanda Brugel, but while that is true it was not her home. Her time in the city was brief. Brugel lived in Courtice just outside Oshawa. She had a dream to dance, however, a rapid growth rate meant that she literally outgrew her dance partners. She acknowledged in a piece that was published in The Toronto Star that she was 6'1" tall when wearing heels. When I outgrew my male companions I became a bit too big and quit. Many former dancers turn into acting. In Brugel's case, it was the support of an instructor in drama at her high school which led her to pursue the career path she wanted. The teacher suggested that she try her hand at a character in the annual school production. The teacher advised her to try out for a role in the annual school production. It was her turn to be chosen to play Anne of Green Gables. The Fine Arts Talent Award at York University led her to the Theatre Program where she graduated in 2000 with a bachelor's degree in art degree in fine arts.
